Westfield Century City is one of my favorite destinations to go to in Los Angeles. When I was considering public locations that would benefit from art installations they were the top on my client wishlist. I pitched the Westfield events team on some installation pop ups and they surprised me by offering 3 billboards to create custom artwork for.
Since this is a Los Angeles destination and the first flagship project for me since moving to the US, I wanted to create artwork that featured iconic L.A. views in new and reimagined way. The result were these 3 illustrations: City of Angles, Palisades Park Polygons and La La Lights. These illustrations capture the beauty and even the peace that Los Angeles can have as soon as you rise above the noise of the city. My hope is that these banners will offer some warmth and calm energy to those who come across them and remind us all to find the moments of rest among the business of our days.
This project will be up for the next year at Westfield Century City near the Gelsons entrance
