Vancouver’s most beloved summer event, the Honda Celebration of Light, is the world’s largest offshore fireworks competition. The event welcomes over a million attendees annually during three spectacular evenings of fireworks over English Bay in Vancouver, British Columbia.
In 2017, while working at BRANDLIVE as the Art Director, I managed the translation of the rebrand of the Honda Celebration of Light across all event collateral. My responsibility was directing the design of all graphic needs and print production across the website and social media accounts as well as small printed items like the menus, accreditation, maps and parking passes to larger scale signage like the festival stage scrim, fence scrim and colour coding throughout the different zones. For this event I managing multiple designers, an instal team, the print production timeline and process and overall look of the event.
This annual festival brings in crowds well over 1.3 million across the course of the three days, thanks to the free family entertainment, music, food, licensed areas, ticketed venues, sponsor activations and – last but not least – some truly world-class pyrotechnic displays from teams representing countries across the globe.
